Design influences from the 60’s are set
Friday, January 29th, 2010to become the new fashion trendsetters.
With Gucci leading the way, design elements circa 1960 are quickly finding their way to the runway. Frida Giannini, of Gucci, is bringing back “hippie” in a new and chic way. With accents of colorful flowers on shirts and in jewelry design to simple but bold neon colors back in strips. Fluorescent shades are become the new black and what better than do accessories that with a leather jacket adorned with graffiti prints.
Men’s fashion is also being touched by Giannini’s new move with embroidered suits and belts with large gemstones. Step up the basic monotone silk jacquard with one of tropical designs in tone-on-tone. Men beware of your girlfriend snatching up the new bright patent leather high top by Gucci from your closets.
Of course what would high fashion be without its accessories? Duffels and bags are in pastel patterns and bright colors. For instance, take the old crocodile skin bag and wow everyone with your new one is pastel blue. Floral designs have stepped down to your feet as well in the form of laces in a new low boot.
So the newest trend in fashion is that hippie is back to hip.
